I’ve never been to Disney World.
They say it’s the most magical place on earth.
I’m sure it’s wonderful.
I think I’d love it.
But even without seeing it for myself,
I don’t think I’m okay with it holding the title.
Because there are two spaces that I think are truly magical.
Parks and Libraries.
I believe parks and libraries are one of the few things we’ve actually gotten right.
Parks and libraries ignite the imagination.
They put books and resources at our fingertips.
They give us a place to connect with nature.
Parks and libraries are free resources.
Available to all at no cost.
Protected for every one of us to enjoy.
Parks and libraries level the playing field.
They provide access and dignity.
They are places where everyone belongs.
If that’s not magic, I don’t know what is.
