To experience the best of people, you have to take the worst of them, too.
Our greatest strengths and our greatest weaknesses are merely two sides of the same coin.
People are complicated.
Strange even.
We all have our quirks.
The things that make us tick.
And the things that drive us nuts.
But as odd as people are,
They’re often quite great when you take the time to look.
Some humans are funny,
and some not so much.
Some create.
Some tinker.
Some organize.
Some strategize.
Some are aloof,
and others are always alert.
The things that make people great,
can also be the things that grate on other people’s nerves.
Someone’s spontaneity may be exhilarating,
But it can also be exhausting.
Attention to detail is a gift,
But it can also feel like hell.
Truth is, our greatest strengths and our greatest weaknesses are merely two sides of the same coin. Our kryptonite is often our superpower left unchecked. The best of me is often all tied up with the worst of me. It’s a cruel dance, but the best among us have learned it well.
So when people frustrate us, it’s good to remember,
To experience the best of people,
you have to take the worst of them, too.
