🚩🚩 I’m looking forward to sharing a few “Digital Red Flags” at the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn tomorrow.

But I would be lying to your face if I said I hadn’t struggled a bit to put the presentation together (I really hate speaking with a slide deck, by the way).

Mostly, I’ve had to fight to make some sort of sense out of the dozens of ideas swirling in my head. I had to wrestle with what I thought people would find interesting and what I thought would be the most beneficial. And, frankly, what I could talk about without putting everybody to sleep. 😴

This work is the secret sauce to good communication, though: • Tailoring what you’re trying to say to the person receiving it. • Paring down your message into its simplest form. • Leaving space to listen (and having a firm grasp on what you’re talking about) so you can adjust in real time.

I don’t know if anyone will find the presentation beneficial. I hope they do.

But as a long-winded rambler at heart, I know I’ve put in the work to pair down the information the best I can. To be as clear as possible. And hopefully as helpful as possible.

And, if nothing else, I’m sure the lunch will be good! 😋
