It was 2019

It was 2019. Bullseye had just moved downtown. And it was time for me to make a move, too. I had decided to change careers.

I liked being a pastor. Loved it really. But God was nudging me in a new direction. I felt I owed it to myself and my family to see where it went. In her wisdom, Megan continually encouraged me: ”Do whatever makes you happy.” So I did.

Fast forward to today. This Ninja Turtle Arcade sits proudly in the corner of my office at Bullseye, Still presiding over my work almost six years later.

You could say Christmas is a big deal around our parts. Amy takes good care of our team around the holidays. And the arcade game was my “Bullseye Gift” that year. Turns out my sister-in-law knows me pretty well. 😂

This arcade game was the first of many little treasures that fill my office. Some are toys, some are art, some are just goofy trinkets that make me laugh. But none of it is random. Okay, well, all of it is random. 😂 But each item is meaningful in its own way.

My arcade is a little time machine. It takes me back to the 90s, Just a goofy kid living for the Ninja Turtles.

But it also takes me back to 2019 and the anxious excitement of trying something new. I can still feel the hope of endless possibilities and the fear of the unknown. I can remember the peace of making a decision I knew was best…even if no one else understood.

Some days I need that reminder. To trust in myself, and to fully embrace new opportunities.

My job looks different than it did in 2019. My circle does too. I don’t quite know what the future holds, but I intend to keep attacking each day like those turtles in time.

Cowabunga!
