Let’s go a little more lighthearted for item 🥉 on my office tour.

If you’re new here, I’ve been giving a little behind the scenes view of my workspace at Bullseye. Most of the things in my office communicate something about me. So, it feels like a good way to share some of my values while getting to show off my Ninja Turtle toys. 😂

Today’s item is this one-of-a-kind print of my one-of-a-kind dude: Jackie Hale.

Jackie is our lead videographer at Bullseye. There aren’t many people who take their job more seriously than Jack does. He’s incredibly passionate about honoring the stories of the clients we work with. And he has the talent to back it up.

Jackie really really cares about white balance. And something called Rec. 709. Don’t worry. I don’t know what that is either. But I do think it sounds like a cool name for a hip restaurant.

A while back, we were sprucing up the front window at Bullseye. We decided to make prints of each of our team members at the time and display them out front.

Jackie was up first because, well, everyone loves Jackie. Unfortunately, I think someone forgot we needed to measure things before cutting them. This poster of Jackie was the wrong size.

No big deal. They resized the photos and went to print more. Someone else picked up the poster of Jackie to toss in the trash.

“I’ll take that.” I said. They gave me a weird look but handed it over. 5 minutes later this beaut was hanging on my wall.

So, why did I hang this photo of Jackie up on my wall? It’s very simple: It’s because Jackie is awesome. And it just makes me laugh.

Kyle came and asked me a question a few days later. He laughed at my photo and asked “what are you planning to do with that?”

I thought that was about the dumbest question I had ever heard.

While staring at him with a quizzical look on my face, I slowly pointed to the poster on the wall and said.

“Umm, this.”

I happen to be a human that thinks a lot of thoughts and feels lots of feelings. I try to find purpose in the everyday things, And I look for meaning even in mundane places. The cool thing is I can usually find it. And it’s actually the most important stuff.

But it’s real easy for me to get too far into my head. I can get too focused on finding meaning. I can get too caught up in the whirlwind that is my tangled web of emotions and thoughts.

I have to remind myself that sometimes things can just be. They can just be goofy. They can exist just because I like it or just because it makes me laugh.

Plus, Jackie is the only human that I’ve ever met who sweats as much as I do while we are working. That deserves some honor!
